GED in Spanish

MCIF's GED in Spanish Program

Nearly one out of every four individuals aged 25 years or older in Brooklyn lacks a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically, over half of the women and men enrolled in MCIF Center’s programs do not have a high school diploma or GED. The need for GED preparation classes in New York City and especially Brooklyn are these numbers.

Due to the large Spanish speaking population residing in Brooklyn, traditional GED preparation classes in English are not much of a help. For this reason, MCIF Center offers GED Preparation in Spanish. Enrolled participants prepare to take the General Equivalency Diploma (GED) exam in Spanish. Obtaining their GEDs provides them the opportunity to continue with their studies in college, obtain better jobs, and receive promotions in the current positions. By increasing their education and attaining a degree, these participants are better able to support themselves and their families.
