Awilda Heredia

Intro ESL Aide & Citizenship Instructor

Born in Puerto Rico, Awilda Heredia has lived in New York City since the age of seven. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Brooklyn. As an involved member of the Bushwick community, Awilda played an active part in the Bushwick Parents Organization, which was instrumental in the creation of EBC High School in Bushwick. In 1994, Awilda became involved with MCIF Center as a volunteer and she was the Introduction ESL Instructor until 2012. Currently, she acts as an aide in the ESL Introduction classroom and facilitates the Citizenship Preparation course at MCIF Center. Awilda currently lives in Bushwick, Brooklyn with her husband.
